NPFL 25: Ilechukwu Laments After Oriental Derby Defeat To Enyimba
Precious Oham
Fidelis Ilechukwu has lamented the 1-2 home defeat to Enyimba FC in the oriental derby describing it as painful, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The People's Elephant snatched the maximum points against Rangers at the Cathedral in a match day 35 NPFL encounter.
Ilechukwu said: "It was not the result we wanted, but football showed itself again today. We had a bad first half where we let in two goals but came back stronger in the second stanza, got a goal back but failed to convert more chances that were created. It's a painful loss, and we grieve over the loss."
Rangers are now in the 8th position with 49 points as they now shift focus to the prestigious President Federation Cup, where a quarter-final clash against Plateau United awaits the team next weekend in Abuja.
The defeat against Enyimba was Rangers sixth home loss including; Kano Pillars, Niger Tornadoes, Shooting Stars, Heartland FC and Plateau United.
