NPFL 25: Ilechukwu Shifts Attention To Oriental Derby
Precious Oham
Fidelis Ilechukwu of Rangers International has shifted attention to the upcoming Oriental Derby in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
He stated this in his post-match reactions after Rangers hard-fought 1-0 victory over a youthful Bayelsa United side. The winner came courtesy of Isaac Saviour’s 70th-minute unstoppable volley from the edge of the box in a re-arranged match day 3 fixture inside Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Ilechukwu in a post-match chat, said, “We are so happy about the outcome of this game. This was a very important game for us. Before Bayelsa came, we already knew it was going to be a difficult encounter, but thank God we won the game, which will give my team the confidence and the belief needed for our next game against Abia Warriors. "We created chances and missed a lot, but we keep pushing and encouraging the players as our next match will be much more challenging, but I am positive it will end well.” Rangers will, at the weekend, engage Oriental rivals Abia Warriors F.C in a Match Day 5, NPFL 2024/2025 fixture inside ‘The Cathedral’, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday, October 6, 2024, with kickoff fixed for 4:00 pm.
