Imama Amapakabo, head coach of Abia Warriors, has blasted the referee that officiated the game between Akwa United and Abia Warriors, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In his post-match thoughts after Akwa United and Abia Warriors shared the spoils in a match day two 2024/2025 NPFL encounter, Amapakabo questioned some of the decisions of the referee. According to him, "We played 96 minutes of the game. It is at the referees discretion to give the number of minutes that he wanted. It beats my imagination because I was wondering during the course of the second 45 minutes where the five minutes came from that we played. "Having played up to 96 minutes, there was a penalty in my opinion took a bit of seconds to call and that changed the narrative of the game completely. "This is how we want to sell Nigeria football to the world and I think it is very wrong. It's too early in the season. This is the second week and we are beginning to get this negative products being sold to the world."
