NPFL 25: Lack Of Concentration Cost Kwara United Defeat To Insurance - Sanni

Tunde Sanni of Kwara United has attributed the 3-1 defeat to Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match day 13 to a lapse in concentration by his players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Insurance took an early lead in the 18th minute through Nazir Mohammed, but Emmanuel Ogbole quickly responded with an equalizer in the 24th minute after a brilliant solo effort.

Mohammed struck again in the 28th minute to secure his brace, giving the hosts a 2-1 lead at halftime.

However, Kwara United's push for an equalizer left gaps in the defence, allowing Augustine Oguye to seal the victory for Insurance with a goal in the 83rd minute.

Reflecting on the game, Sanni said, "It was a bad day in the office. Despite our efforts and the fact that we played better in some phases, lapses in concentration cost us dearly.

"This team rarely concedes goals, let alone three. I can't attribute it to fatigue, but the outcome is disappointing."

The defeat drops Kwara United to 9th place on the NPFL table. They will look to bounce back in their next fixture against Heartland of Owerri on Matchday 14, scheduled for midweek at the Kwara State Stadium.
