NPFL 25: Megwo Excited With Abia Warriors Away Win Against Heartland

Abia Warriors forward, Sunday Megwo, has expressed excitement following Abia Warriors 1-0 away win over Heartand FC, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The Super Eagles Team B forward featured for the Imama Amapakabo's led side as they secured the maximum points after going down to 10-men, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri. 

While speaking shortly after the game, the Umuahia-born goal poacher revealed that he is happy with the performance of the team, even after going down numerically.

"I'm very happy with the way we performed throughout the game, it showed how mentally strong we are as a team.

"However, it is a vital three points for us, because it is not easy to pick a point away from home, and getting the maximum points in a place like this shows how strong we are even playing with ten men.

"So, it is a massive three points for us which kept our continental hopes alive, but there is still eight games left. We know that if we keep on winning and getting a positive results, we will have a clear chance of securing a spot in the continent next season."

Megwo, who has also bagged nine goals and three assists in 24 league appearances for the Umuchineke Boys this season, expressed confidence ahead of match day 31 mid-week encounter against Lobi Stars.

"Yes, we don't have in other choice than getting the maximum points, but It is not going to be an easy game, we know Lobi Stars is currently down there in the relegation zone, and don't have anything to lose, but we will fight to make sure we secure the three points."
