Abia Warriors forward, Sunday Megwo has praised his team's solid performance in their 2-0 victory against Akwa United in a match day 22 NPFL encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The forward featured in the game for Imama Amapakabo's led side, as they bounced back to winning ways with a commanding win in front of their home supporters.

The Super Eagles B forward, while speaking shortly after the game, revealed that it was an improved performance from how they played in the 3-2 loss to Remo Stars last Wednesday in Ikenne.

"Yes, it was a good, solid team performance, and we deserved the maximum points because of how we played.

"We knew that we have to be up to speed against a side like Akwa United, who are currently in the drop zone, but they made it difficult for us earlier on in the game. I'm glad that we were able to find a way to win the game. Because in this second round of the season, the maximum points are all that matters.

"However, it was a good team effort which also highlighted the collective spirit and determination that led to the victory," he concluded.

Megwo is currently having a brilliant breakout season with seven league goals in 16 appearances.
