NPFL 25: Nasarawa United Banished To Gombe, Fined 6M Over Fans Assault Precious Oham The board of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has banished Nasarawa United to Gombe State and fined N6m for fans assault during the match day 33 NPFL encounter with Plateau United, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The statement reads: "Nasarawa Utd have been charged for breaching the Framework and Rules of the NPFL in the course of their fixture vs Plateau United on Sunday. "The Lafia-based club failed to provide adequate and effective security, resulting in unauthorised persons gaining access to restricted areas and harassing Plateau United and the match officials. "Nasarawa United are also in breach of NPFL25 rules following disturbance from their supporters that resulted in the attack of the away team, Plateau United. Nasarawa United also failed to ensure the proper conduct of their supporters, resulting in the assault of the away team. "Nasarawa United further breached the NPFL25 rules when their supporters assaulted Plateau United player Vincent Temitope to cause grievous bodily harm. "Following these breaches, Nasarawa United have been banished to the Pantami Stadium in Gombe to play their home matches for the rest of NPFL25. "Nasarawa United have been fined N1m each for failing to provide adequate security & ensuring the proper conduct of their supporters (totalling N2m). "A N3m fine has been imposed on Nasarawa United for persistent breach of NPFL25 Framework & Rules. Nasarawa United will also pay a fine of N1m for medical expenses and compensation for Plateau United's Vincent Temitope. "Nasarawa United have been directed to implement effective matchday security and crowd control measures and submit to the NPFL25 board before returning to their Lafia City Stadium in future seasons. "Nasarawa United have also been directed to identify the culprit who caused bodily harm to Vincent Temitope of Plateau United and show evidence of legal prosecution of the culprit. "Nasarawa United have within 48 hours of the date of notice to appeal the NPFL25 sanctions."
