NPFL 25: Njoku Rallies Support For Abia Warriors Ahead Tornadoes Clash

The captain of Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia, Augustine Njoku has appealed to the club's teeming fans for continued support even as he asked for more time as the team navigates the crucibles of evolvement, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Umu Chineke will trade tackles with Niger Tornadoes of Minna at the Umuahia Township Stadium in a Matchday 16 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League, a tie that the club's fans and followers believe is a must-win for the Warriors if they are to improve their status on the league log.

 Njoku, while speaking with the club's media therefore urged the fans for massive support in Sunday's game.

"My message to Abia Warriors fans is just to, first of all, plead with them because of the level of inconsistency in the team now. Talking about getting results, I'm pleading with the fans to still give us a little time because the team, as I used to say, is a work in progress.

 "I believe going forward, the four games remaining in the first round I believe they are going to see a new Abia Warriors.

"So, I urge them to still come out en masse to support and cheer us to victory on Sunday", he said.

According to the former Nigeria U-20 right back, the chances of the Warriors collecting all three points at stake on Sunday are high, going by the level of hard work they have put in.

Abia Warriors will lock horns with Niger Tornadoes of Minna on Sunday, 8th December 2024, at the Umuahia Township Stadium. Kickoff time is 4.00 pm.
