Rivers United Technical Manager Finidi George has said the crucial away 1-0 over Niger Tornadoes was a well-deserved victory, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers extended their unbeaten run to eight matches courtesy of Seiyefa Jackson's strike in 47 minutes to gift the away side the maximum points.

In his post-match reactions, George hailed his players for putting in a good performance saying that they gave it their all.

 "It was a difficult game. We knew from the onset that it was going to be a difficult game. We played to our best. The players gave it their all. I must commend the players for their efforts.

"It was a well-deserved victory, and my goalkeeper made one last brilliant save that would have been an equaliser for them."

Rivers United lead the standings on the log after 8 matches with 20 points, two points adrift of second-placed Remo Stars.
