Rivers United settled for a point in Finidi George's 6th game as Technical Manager after a keenly contested clash against Katsina United at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina in a match day six NPFL encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In his post-match reactions, the Rivers United gaffer said his side deserved to beat their opponents, adding that he would take the point back to Port Harcourt.

He said: "It was more pressure on us, but we contained them, having one chance to score in the second half that didn't materialize. Considering both halves, I'd say we deserved to win, but football being what it is, especially in an away match, I think one point is well-deserved.

"I won't ask for more, although I wanted the three points. This is a difficult place to come and earn a point, so we're happy with it.

"It was a good game, despite the very hot weather. If you look at the first half, we deserved to score at least two goals."

On the next game against Shooting Stars, he said: "We'll plan carefully to ensure the boys recover properly after the two-day journey. It's not easy being on the road, but we'll get them ready for Shooting Stars."
