NPFL 25: There Is Hope For Akwa United To Escape Relegation - Ifeanyi Nwachukwu Assures

Akwa United Assistant Coach, Ifeanyi Nwachukwu has assured fans of the club that the team will escape the drop at the end of the 2024/2025 NPFL season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Promise Keepers defeated Shooting Stars 2-0 in a match day 29 league encounter to keep their survival hopes alive.

In a post-match reaction, the former SKE FC of Port Harcourt head coach believes that their upcoming away league game with Kwara United is a must-win.

His words: "There are smiles on the faces of everybody. The boys are trying and in every game, there is improvement. We also believe that there is hope for us to escape relegation if we continue like this.

"We are very optimistic to escape relegation. We are hopeful that we will get something in Ilorin. We have resolved not to drop any points again both home and away. We can't win only home matches. We must go away and get results to move out of the relegation zone."

Akwa United are placed in the 19th position with 31 points after 29 games and will face off with Kwara United in a match-day 30 encounter.
