NPFL 25: Why I Gifted Enyimba Jersey To A Fan - Eze Ekwutoziam

Enyimba FC midfielder, Eze Ekwutoziam has revealed why he gifted a long-term Enyimba fan his jersey before the kick-off of their game against Lobi Stars, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Eze, who went on to score his first goal of the season in the encounter, joined Enyimba from Delta Force in 2021, he had seven goal contributions last season, scoring thrice and assisting four times across 4 competitions for the People's Elephants. According to him, "I have been longing to do that because he has always been on my mind. When you are looking for a dedicated fan then you ask for Sir Mayor. Despite the result, he still stood firm with the team. "He has this great love and passion for Enyimba, and I so much acknowledge that, and I wish to be reaching him in as many ways as I can." Speaking on the next league game against Rivers United and facing their former boss, Finidi George, he said: "Coach Finidi George M.O.N is not just a coach to me, he’s like a father and a motivator to me because from my early days with him at Enyimba he has always believed me and drew me closer. "I have this great respect for him despite not playing under him this season. The love and care he has shown me will never be doubted. It’s a game we are going to PH with high hopes. Rivers United is enjoying a beautiful run of form likewise we (Enyimba). So, it’s gonna be a cracker till the game of the game." He urged fans to stick with the club, saying that he is ready to give his best: "I am always ready to help this club in any way I can as far as I am allowed to play. "Last season many talked about me. I had a beautiful season, but I thank God for that, to me, that’s not my target; I want to do far better than I did last season for this team."
