Akwa United center-back Wisdom Ndon has revealed that he and his teammates are ready to approach their matchday 8 game against Enugu Rangers with commitment and determination that will ensure the team total victory, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Promise Keepers will host the Flying Antelopes on Monday 21 October, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium at half-past five in a match that will be broadcast live on StarTimes Satellite Television.

Akwa United have garnered just five points from seven matches comprising one win, two draws with four loses, while Rangers with three wins, one draw and three defeats are on ten points from the same number of games.

The 2021 league champions have scored five and conceded seven goals and will be eager to record their second win of the season after defeating Kano Pillars 2-0 in their last home match in Uyo.

Ndon is optimistic that he and his teammates have what it takes to get the job done on Monday.

"It has been a difficult start to the season for us and our position on the log is not comfortable at all. It's unbelievable that we have just one win in seven matches and I can say that our statistics so far does not really reflect our efforts in those matches.

"We have taken time to look back on the previous games we have played and as a team, we have resolved that we have to make it count by approaching every match with commitment, determination and focus that will enable us to record victories in all our matches beginning with this game against Rangers on Monday.

"Let me specifically appreciate all our fans for their wonderful support to us during our last match against Kano Pillars because they charged up the atmosphere and made us feel really at home throughout the match. I'm appealing to all our fans to continue to support us and we will make them proud again."

The young center-back has two goals to his name since joining Akwa United from Ibom Youth FC during the 2022-23 mid-season transfer window.
