NPFL 26: Ilorin Township Stadium To Host Niger Tornadoes Vs Nasarawa United Match

The match day one Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL encounter between Niger Tornadoes and Nasarawa United has been moved to Ilorin for Wednesday, August 27, 2025, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to a letter addressed to the club and signed by the NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, the Minna stadium failed the infrastructure criteria of the Club Licensing Regulations.

"As the 2025/2026 NPFL Season commences, we have been informed that the Bako Kantagora Stadium, Minna, has not been confirmed by the club licensing licensor of clubs. Consequent upon the above, you are hereby informed that your Match Day One fixture, Niger Tornadoes vs Nasarawa United has been put on hold.

 "The fixture has been rescheduled for Wednesday 27 th August 2025 at the Ilorin Township Stadium, Ilorin, unless you can provide an alternative venue within twenty-four (24) hours.

"Note that your subsequent home fixtures will be played at the same venue, until it is certified that the Bako Kantagora Stadium is fit to host NPFL matches.

"This is for your information and compliance. Ensure that all necessary logistics are in place for a successful match."
