Warri Wolves has placed its Head Coach, Aluma Napoleon on an indefinite suspension after a series of poor performances in the ongoing 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This was contained in a statement by Okonma Franka signed on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission.

Napoleon, who led the team to gain promotion from the lower division, was asked to step aside while his assistant, Jonny Austin takes charge of the team until further notice.

The statement reads: "This decision became necessary following the underperformance of the club which only recently gained promotion to the NPFL.

"In the interim, the suspended Head Coach has been directed to hand over all official documents and responsibilities to the Assistant Coach, Jonny Austin who will oversee the affairs of the club until further notice.

"The Commission assures fans and stakeholders of its commitment to repositioning Warri Wolves for improved performance and sustainable success."

Until his last game, Warri Wolves suffered a 2-1 home loss to Shooting Stars despite starting the campaign with back-to-back victories and clean sheets.
