NPFL Clubs Set For Six-Team Pre-Season Tournament In Jos

Four NPFL clubs preparing for the 2026/27 continental campaign are set to headline a six-team pre-season tournament scheduled to take place in Jos, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Rangers International, Rivers United, Shooting Stars and El-Kanemi Warriors will participate in the tournament, with Plateau United and Mighty Jets joining as wildcard teams.

The competition is scheduled to hold from August 18 to 23 at the New Jos Stadium as the participating clubs fine-tune their preparations ahead of the new season and their respective continental commitments.

The tournament is expected to provide the clubs with an opportunity to assess their squads, sharpen match fitness and test new signings before the start of the 2026/27 campaign.

The inclusion of Plateau United and Mighty Jets will also add a local dimension to the competition, giving the Jos-based sides the chance to compete against some of the country's leading clubs.

The tournament comes ahead of the scheduled August 28-30 kickoff of the 2026/27 NPFL season.
