NPFL Descends On Kun Khalifat After Failure To Honour El Kanemi Warriors Game

Kun Khalifat FC have been charged for breaching the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Framework and Rules after failing to honour their Matchday 24 fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors on Monday, February 2, 2026, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The NPFL stated that the reason provided by Kun Khalifat FC for not honouring the fixture was unacceptable, leading to disciplinary action in line with the league’s regulations.

As part of the sanctions, Kun Khalifat FC will forfeit three points and three goals, which have been awarded to their opponents, El-Kanemi Warriors, in accordance with the NPFL Framework and Rules.

 

 

In addition, the club has been handed a ₦10 million fine for failing to meet their match obligation. .

 

However, the fine is a suspended sentence and will remain in effect for the rest of the 2025/26 NPFL season, provided the club does not commit a similar breach within the period.

Kun Khalifat FC have also been granted 48 hours from the date of the notice to formally appeal the sanctions imposed by the league authorities.
