Ahead of the crucial NPFL game between Plateau United and MFM FC in Jos today, former coach of MFM FC who is now in charge of Plateau United Fidelis Ilechukwu said his side will leave no stones unturned in the game, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Ilechukwu who managed MFM FC in their first season in the topflight football the same time year Plateau United also gained promotion was in charge of the Lagos based club when they narrowly lost the NPFL title to this same Plateau United in 2017.
Since he left MFM FC for Heartland, the Olukoya Boys have been struggling to match the tenacity at which they play under one of the most coveted coaches in the land.
Gasping for survival almost every season since Ilechukwu left, MFM FC again this season have been found themselves in the relegation zone since the match day one of the 2021/22 league season, although things have changed in recent weeks, Fidelis Ilechukwu knows the threat the Lagos based side are to his Plateau United title challenge.
"We know its going to be a very tough game but we're working very hard to get our three points, Ilechukwu exclusively told BSNSports.com.ng.
He also took out time to sing the praise of MFM FC's new coach Isiekwene Ikechukwu Christian, whom he said knows him very well.
"MFM are not a small team, they're a very big team right now because of the changing of the new coach who have worked with me for years and he also played with me, he understands my character, he understands my philosophy and I know he's going to capitalise on that but there is going to be a different method tomorrow to make sure we get our 3 points."
Ilechukwu concluded by saying his side will give it all it takes to close the gap on league leaders Rivers United
"We're not going to look down on them because of their condition because the character of the team has changed totally and I know that we have all it to win the game and we're working very hard to make sure we get our 3 points to close the gap on Rivers United."
This will be the second time Fidelis Ilechukwu will be leading Plateau United out against MFM FC in the league. The first it happened was at the Teslim Balogun Stadium where he lost by a lone goal to the Olukoya Boys.
