Action continues on the second day of the matchday 28 of the Nigeria Professional Football League and it was a good day for Plateau United while Shooting Stars have a day to forget, BSNsports.com.ng can report
Former NPFL champions, Plateau United who suffered defeat in the last match returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win over the visiting Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.
Jesse Akila gave the hosts lead in the 24th minute but a blunder by Andrew Ikefe allowed Ridwan Adeshina to equalise in the 48th minute.
Buhari Ibrahim restored Plateau's lead two minutes later before Akila wrapped up the game with his second in the 66th minute.
At the Ilorin township stadium, Kwara United taught Shooting Stars a hard lesson with a comprehensive beating 3-1 it ended.
Goals from Samad Kadiri 38th, Issa Gata 60th and Alao Danbani 68th minutes secured full points for the Afonja Warriors, while Opeoluwa Olufemi netted Oluyole Warriors consolatory goal.
Adebayo Waheed scored the only goal of the game as Katsina United defeated Nasarawa United 1-0.
Remo Stars edged former champions, Enugu Rangers, by a lone strike from Sikiru Alimi.
The return of coach Deji Ayeni to Akure yielded a fruitful dividend as Akwa United held Sunshine Stars to a goalless draw.
Earlier in the day, MFM FC compounded the woes of Kano pillars with a 2-1 win.
The results meant that Plateau United have reduced the points between them and Rivers United to 4 points, Remo Stars moved up to 3rd position while Rangers dropped back to 4th position.
At the other end of the table, Heartland moved up to 17th position as Kano Pillars dropped to 19th position while MFM FC remained rock bottom.
