The matchday 37 of the Nigeria Professional Football League was characterized with a lot of surprise results across venues in the country, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The biggest shocking result of the day was recorded at the Enyimba International stadium where host the People's Elephants suffered a 0-2 defeat to Dakkada FC.

After a scoreless first half, Arise Ogundare gave the away side the lead in the 56th minute before Ezekiel Edidong put the icing on the cake in the 90th minute.

Continental chasing Remo Stars also secured an away win at Akure township stadium with 0-1 win over Sunshine Stars, as former Akure Gunner Dayo Ojo netted the only goal of the game.

It was a day to forget for newly crowned champions Rivers United as they suffered a 3-2 defeat to the relegation-threatened Shooting Stars.

The Oluyole Warriors were 2-0 ahead under 25th minute before the league too scorer Chijioke Akunneto reduced the score to 2-1 while Moses Omoduemke added the third just before the half.

Akunneto netted his brace in the 47th minute from the penalty spot.

Ibrahim Yahaya's 47th-minute goal handed Gombe United a 1-0 win over visiting Rangers International.

A second-half brace from Mustapha Salihu ensured that Katsina United defeated Plateau United by 2-0.
