NPFL ROUND-UP: Remo Stars Edge Closer To Title As Ikorodu City Pick Point In Maiduguri

Remo Stars moved closer to their first-ever title after a crucial away win over Shooting Stars in a South West Derby in Ibadan, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Sky Blue Stars got the better of Shooting Stars by a lone goal via Alex Oyowah's 30th-minute effort to ensure they recorded their fifth away win of the season in Nigeria's top-flight.

With the result, Remo Stars could be crowned champions of the NPFL if they beat Nassarawa United in their next game while Rivers United lose away to Kano Pillars.

In Maiduguri, Ikorodu City secured a vital away point against El-Kanemi Warriors after it ended one apiece while Plateau United defeated Akwa United by a lone goal.

It ended goalless in Owerri in a rain-soaked encounter that failed to produce a goal between Heartland FC and Kwara United, while Rivers United beat Sunshine Stars by 1-0 in Port Harcourt.

Bendel Insurance and Niger Tornadoes were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Nasarawa United and Bayelsa United respectively.

In Saturday's games, Rangers International defeated relegated Lobi Stars 4-2 away from home, Enyimba FC beat Kano Pillars 2-1 while Katsina United demolished Abia Warriors 5-1.
