The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has been ranked among the top 100 football leagues in the world, according to the latest global league rankings, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The latest statistics placed the NPFL in 82nd position globally, making it one of the highest-ranked leagues in Africa.
England's Premier League retained the top spot as the world's best football league, followed by Spain's La Liga, Germany's Bundesliga, Italy's Serie A, and France's Ligue 1 to complete the top five.
In Africa, Morocco's Botola Pro emerged as the continent's highest-ranked league in 40th position, while Algeria's Ligue 1 was ranked 43rd. Egypt's Premier League occupied 47th place, South Africa's Premier Soccer League was 62nd, and the NPFL followed in 82nd position.
Ghana's Premier League was ranked 83rd, Senegal's Ligue 1 placed 87th, while Zambia's Super League came in 95th.
The ranking reflects the growing recognition of the Nigerian top flight on the global stage as the league continues its drive to improve competitiveness, organization, and overall standards.
