NPFL Relegation Battle: Which Clubs Are Safe?

By Micheal Olanrewaju

As the NPFL season nears its end, the fight to avoid relegation is intensifying. With only a few games left, some clubs are safe, while others face the risk of dropping to the lower division.

Clubs Safe from Relegation

Teams from Remo Stars (1st, 57 points) to Kano Pillars (9th, 43 points) have secured enough points to stay clear of the relegation zone.

Teams in Relegation Danger

The relegation battle is tight from Niger Tornadoes (10th, 40 points) downwards. The most vulnerable clubs are:

Nasarawa United (16th, 36 points)

Akwa United (17th, 34 points)

Heartland FC (18th, 34 points)

Sunshine Stars (19th, 33 points)

Lobi Stars (20th, 23 points)

Lobi Stars face the biggest threat, while Akwa United and Heartland must fight hard to survive.

Key Factors

Plateau United’s 3-point deduction has pulled them into the battle with 38 points.

Goal difference could play a major role, with Sunshine Stars (-16) and Lobi Stars (-16) at a disadvantage.

With the margins so tight, every point matters as the season approaches a dramatic conclusion.
