NPFL Review: Enyimba Wallop  Shooting Stars As El Kanemi Warriors Pick Away Win

Enyimba International delivered a commanding performance as they thrashed Shooting Stars Sports Club 3-0 in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 19 encounter in Aba on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Goals from Chinedu Ufere, Edidiong Ezekiel, and Chidera Michael sealed a convincing victory for the People’s Elephant, who dominated proceedings at the Enyimba International Stadium to secure maximum points.

In Port Harcourt, league leaders Rivers United maintained their fine form with a narrow 1-0 win over Rangers International. 

Boluwaji Sholumade struck the decisive goal eight minutes after the restart to hand the Pride of Rivers another crucial victory.

At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Abia Warriors. 

Taheer Abubakar’s 68th-minute strike proved decisive as the visitors returned home with all three points.

Katsina United recorded their first away win of the season after edging Kun Khalifat 1-0 in Owerri. Richard Christopher scored the only goal of the encounter six minutes before halftime to hand the Changi Boys a morale-boosting victory on the road.

El Kanemi Warriors also claimed an important away win, defeating Bayelsa United 1-0 at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa. Sadiq Mohammed’s goal was enough to secure the points for the Maiduguri-based side.

In Minna, Niger Tornadoes were in fine form as they defeated Barau FC 2-0 at the Bako Kontagora Stadium. 

Abdulaziz Dalhatu and Rickson Mendos found the back of the net for the hosts.

Warri Wolves and Wikki Tourists shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw in Ozoro. Imamu Bala opened the scoring for Wikki Tourists just before halftime, before Ezekiel Oroh equalised early in the second half.

 Seth Mayi then put Warri Wolves ahead, but Bala completed his brace to restore parity 14 minutes from time.

Elsewhere, Kano Pillars recorded a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Nasarawa United to round off the Matchday 19 fixtures.
