NPFL Review: Pillars, Warri Wolves, Insurance Claim Away Wins As 3SC Thrash Enyimba

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 20 delivered a series of surprising outcomes on Sunday, with several away teams recording impressive victories across various centres, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
At the El-Kanemi Warriors Stadium, El-Kanemi Warriors secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Bayelsa United, with Daddy Abdulrahman scoring the decisive goal in the 19th minute to hand the home side maximum points.
In Barau, the hosts edged Niger Tornadoes 2–1 in an entertaining encounter.
Uche Moses opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Muhammad Umar doubled the lead early in the second half. Clinton Jephta pulled one back for Tornadoes in the 65th minute, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.
Abia Warriors and Plateau United shared the spoils in Umuahia, playing out a 1–1 draw.
Plateau United struck first through Saka Gafar in the 8th minute, while Emeka Obioma restored parity for the hosts with a 28th-minute effort.
In Ilorin, Bendel Insurance continued their fine away form with a 1–0 win over Kwara United. Emmanuel Akpan’s 37th-minute strike proved decisive, as the visitors held on for all three points.
Warri Wolves also enjoyed success on the road, defeating Wikki Tourists 1–0 in Bauchi.
Ezekiel Oroh scored the lone goal of the match in the 59th minute to seal a vital away victory.
League leaders Remo Stars maintained their push at the top with a hard-fought 1–0 home win over Ikorodu City.
Haruna Hadi netted the winning goal shortly after the restart in the 47th minute.
In Ibadan, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend, thrashing Enyimba 3–0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
Lucky Emmanuel opened the scoring in the 17th minute, before second-half goals from Sodiq Ibrahim and Qamar Adegoke in the 81st and 89th minutes sealed a dominant victory.
At the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Rangers International and Rivers United played out a goalless draw in a tightly contested encounter.
Meanwhile, Kano Pillars claimed a crucial 1–0 away win against Nasarawa United in Lafia.
Chiedozie Okorie’s 49th-minute goal was enough to secure all three points for the Sai Masu Gida.
The results from Matchday 20 further underline the competitiveness of the NPFL this season, with away sides increasingly asserting their strength across the league.
