Matchday 6 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) kicked off on Saturday with thrilling encounters across different centres, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United returned to winning ways with a slim but vital 1-0 victory over El Kanemi Warriors.

Monday Gideon struck in the 32nd minute, a goal that eventually sealed all three points for the Peace Boys despite late pressure from the visitors.

In Benin City, Bayelsa United picked up a hard-fought away point against Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

The Prosperity Boys, who have struggled to gather results in recent outings, showed great resilience to hold their hosts.

Insurance went ahead on the stroke of halftime through a Kayode Oke penalty in the 45th minute, but Bayelsa United responded swiftly after the restart.

Jawad Mustapha levelled matters just five minutes into the second half to ensure the tie ended 1-1. The NPFL action continues on Sunday with more fixtures lined up across the country.
