NPFL Review: Rangers Shock Bayelsa United In Yenagoa, Maintain Top Spot

Rangers International produced one of the standout performances of matchday 34 in the Nigeria Premier Football League after securing an impressive 2-0 away victory over Bayelsa United in Yenagoa, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Flying Antelopes showed their title credentials with a composed display on the road to maintain their position at the top of the league table.

Elsewhere, Enyimba defeated Remo Stars 2-1 in Aba in a thrilling encounter. 

Victor Mbaoma gave Remo Stars the lead in the 21st minute before Stanley Dimgba restored parity for the hosts seven minutes later. 

Chidera Michael netted the winning goal in the 49th minute to hand Enyimba maximum points.

Kun Khalifat also recorded a dramatic 2-1 victory over Kano Pillars.

 Mmesoma Nnorom opened the scoring in the 55th minute, while Luis Dadong equalised for Pillars in the 85th minute. 

Oghenetega Ebetomame however struck deep into stoppage time to seal victory for Kun Khalifat.

Niger Tornadoes and Kwara United settled for a 2-2 draw in a pulsating game. 

Abdulrasheed Shehu Dabai converted a penalty in the 26th minute for Tornadoes before Babatunde Bright equalised three minutes later. 

Akeem Akanni gave Kwara United the lead in the 63rd minute, but Ismail Sarki rescued a point for the hosts late in the game.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars edged Nasarawa United 3-2 in an entertaining contest. 

Lucky Emmanuel scored twice in the 5th and 24th minutes before JoFrank Istifanus reduced the deficit for Nasarawa United before halftime. 

Habibu Alakija levelled for the visitors in the 57th minute, but Qamar Adegoke netted the winner for Shooting Stars in the 77th minute.

Rivers United boosted their continental ambitions with a convincing 3-0 win over Abia Warriors.

 Wasiu Falolu opened the scoring in the 50th minute, Timothy Zachariah added the second in the 75th minute, while Bello Babatunde completed the rout late on.

Barau FC cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors courtesy of goals from Sunday Anthony, Henry Ezeonye and Joseph Atule.

Warri Wolves also secured a narrow 1-0 win against Plateau United with Tejiri Emonena scoring the decisive goal in the 60th minute.
