NPFL Review: Rivers United Back To Winning Ways as Remo Stars, Katsina United Earn Away Points

Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 32 delivered drama across multiple centres, with Rivers United returning to winning ways in emphatic fashion, while Remo Stars and Katsina United secured valuable points on the road, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Rivers United produced a dominant attacking display to defeat Kun Khalifat 4-2 in a thrilling encounter.
Goals from Aniekeme Okon (16’), Iyowuna Douglas (40’, 82’) and Handsome Surveyor (45’) ensured maximum points despite strikes from Abdulrafiu Omolabi (24’) and Sunday Adehi (38’) for the visitors.
In Maiduguri, Remo Stars battled to a 1-1 draw against El-Kanemi Warriors.
Adewale Yusuf gave the hosts an early lead in the 7th minute, but Victor Mbaoma restored parity for Remo Stars in the 36th minute to secure a crucial away point.
Enyimba FC edged a hard-fought Abia derby, defeating Abia Warriors 2-1. Chidera Michael opened the scoring on 61 minutes before Emeka Obioma struck late in the 88th minute.
Williams pulled one back deep into stoppage time from the penalty spot, but it was not enough to deny Enyimba victory.
Niger Tornadoes left it late to secure a 2-0 win over Wikki Tourists, with Abdullah Shehu converting from the penalty spot in the 80th minute before Tshimaga sealed the result in added time.
At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Shooting Stars recorded an impressive 3-1 victory over Rangers International.
Sodiq Ibrahim netted twice (49’, 55’), while Desmond added another in the 78th minute before Mustapha grabbed a late consolation for Rangers in the 88th minute.
Katsina United held Barau FC to a goalless draw away from home, earning a valuable point in a tightly contested encounter.
There was also plenty of excitement in Lagos, where Ikorodu City edged Sporting Lagos Wolves 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller.
Abayomi Ayodeji (8’) and Joseph Arumala (24’) set the tone early, while an own goal extended the lead.
Wolves responded through Chisom Ogbuu and a penalty from Igbunu Evwierhurhoma, but Tosin Oyedokun’s quick response restored Ikorodu City’s cushion and ultimately sealed victory.
Elsewhere, Bayelsa United recorded a convincing 4-1 win over Kano Pillars to round off an action-packed matchday.
