NPFL Round Up : Rangers Beat Heartland As Enyimba, 3SC, Insurance Secure Home Wins

It was another weekend of great and interesting football actions, in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) as we witnessed big margin scoreline as Doma United and Shooting Stars secures big wins, in Matchday 7 games played on Sunday across seven Match centres in the country, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Enyimba FC, Rangers International and Bendel Insurance all picked maximum points at home while Rivers United and Akwa United were unable to secure a win at home this weekend. 

In Gombe, it was a shocking scoreline in the Savannah derby as Doma United hammered Gombe United 3-0, at the Pantami Stadium. 

Goals from Emmanuel Ekpeyong 52nd minute and a brace by Emmanuel Jesam, in the 54nd and 86th minutes were more than enough to secure a massive win as the Akin Onigbinde led side became the second team to pick an away win this season after Remo Stars. 

In Awka, Rangers International continued on their impressive scoring form as they beat Heartland FC 2-0, in an Oriental Derby, at the Awka City Stadium. 

Kazeem Ogunleye scored inside two minute with a delightful free kick to give the Flying Anteoples the lead.

Kenneth Igboke strike his first goal of the season to double the lead 2-0, in the 56nd minute.

In Ibadan, it was a running of goals as Shooting Stars thrashed visitors Niger Tornadoes 4-1, at the Lekan Salami Stadium. 

Ayobami Adekunle scored in the 16th minute to give the Gbenga Ogunbote side the lead. But Chidi Ernest leveled it 1-1 in the 35th minute.

Ayodeji Bamidele scored 3SC's second goal in the 46th, Gbolagade Adelowo increased the tally in the 62th and Ayobami Junior completed the rout in the 86th to secure the victory for Shooting Stars. 

In Aba, Enyimba International bounced back to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win against Kwara United, at the Enyimba International Stadium. 

Through Chijioke Mbaoma who converted from the spot in the 45+3 minute as the Finidi George led side pick their first win after four games in all competitions this season. 

In Benin, it was a dramatic fashion as Bendel Insurance beat Remo Stars 1-0, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. 

Sarki Ismael scored the only goal of the game, in the 24th minute as the Monday Odigie side secured the vital victory and maximum points. 

At the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, it wasn't a good day in the office for former NPFL Champions Rivers united, after they were held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Sunshine Stars.

The Akure Gunners made the first breakthrough in the game after Osimaga Duke strike a brilliant volley outside the box, in the 52nd minutes. 

But in the final second half of the game, Alex Oyowah leveled it up 1-1 for the Stanley Eguma side as both sides shared the points.

In Uyo, Akwa United were held to a goalless draw by Plateau United as the Fatai Osho could not find a way to secure their second victory of the season at home.
