NPFL Round-Up: Ikorodu City Drowns Shooting Stars, As Heartland Pick Point In Kano

Ikorodu City FC got the bragging rights after securing the maximum points off Shooting Stars in their first South-West derby in the Nigerian top-flight, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Oga Boys came from a goal down to beat 3SC 2-1 in a thrilling affair decided at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos.

Anthony Okachi had opened the scoring for the visitors in the 14th minute before Shola Adelani got the equalizer in the 59th minute.

Rivio Ayemwenre's 88th-minute winner gave the Oga Boys the maximum points.

On their return to the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars were held to a pulsating 2-2 draw with Heartland FC. Emmanuel Amuneke's led side shocked the hosts when Suraju Lawal got the opener in the 51st minute before Rabiu Ali struck six minutes later via a free kick for the equalizer.

The game lived up to expectations as Lawal bagged his brace on the one-hour mark, but Pillars responded through Ahmed Musa as the game ended two apiece.

Abia Warriors and Enyimba FC shared the spoils 1-1 in the Abia Derby while Kwara United defeated Plateau United 2-0 in Ilorin.

The battle of the heavyweights in Ikenne between Remo Stars and Rivers United ended goalless while Rangers International beat Bendel Insurance in a five-goal thriller.
