A well deserved first half performance from Niger Tornadoes ensured that they got the better of Sunshine Stars in a match day 17 NPFL clash, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The Ikon Allah Boys dismantled visiting Sunshine Stars by 4-1 by scoring the four goals in the first half of the game. 

The Owena Whales, who recently announced the acquisition of a new gaffer got the consolation in the second half to drown into the relegation zone. 

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United regained their lead on the standings after overcoming Kwara United 2-1 in a keenly contested tie. 

The Pride of Rivers are two points above second-placed, Remo Stars, who managed to salvage a draw against Ikorodu City FC in the South-West derby. 

Reigning champions, Rangers International extended their unbeaten run to ten matches after a stalemate encounter with Katsina United.

Bendel Insurance stunned Heartland FC after snatching a draw at the Dan Anyiam Stadium while El-Kanemi Warriors thrashed Abia Warriors 3-0 in Maiduguri.
