Following the resumption of hostilities in the ongoing 2023/2024 NPFL season, shocking results were recorded across different match venues in the country, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Defending champions, Enyimba FC continued their title defence with an away win in Umuahia against Abia Warriors courtesy of a solitary strike by Bernard Ovoke.

Ovoke came off the bench to give Enyimba the lead on 72 minutes to push them second on the log on 56 points and four points adrift of league leaders, Rangers International. 

In Lafia, Akwa United shocked Lobi Stars with a 2-1 away win to move out of the relegation zone, ending Lobi Stars unbeaten home record. 

History was made in Port Harcourt as 2024 NPFL U-17 league champion and Golden Boot winner, Seiyefa Jackson made his debut for Rivers United in the game with Sporting Lagos. 

Jackson was on the scoresheet as the Pride of Rivers thrashed Sporting Lagos 4-1 in an exciting fashion. 

According to multiple reports, Wasiu Alalade’s 18-second goal against Remo Stars has now become the fastest goal scored in the ongoing NPFL season as Kwara United got the better of Remo Stars in a five-goal thriller to move to 11th on the log.
