NPFL Round-up: Kano Pillars Holds Lobi Stars, As Sporting Lagos, 3SC Tie Ends in Draw

Lobi Stars of Makurdi dropped points at their adopted home ground in Lafia for the first time in the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, after Kano Pillars held them to a 1-1 draw, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Suleman Idris of Kano Pillars cancelled out Stanley Oganbor's 5th minute opener as the visitors held on to a valuable point while Lobi Stars go top of the table with 33 points after 18 matches. 

In the South-West derby decided in Lagos, Sporting Lagos and Shooting Stars shared the spoils in an exciting 2-2 draw. 

Coach Gbenga Ogunbote of Shooting Stars gave mid-season signing, Okemute Odah his first start to mark his return to the club. 

The duo of Chinedu Ufere and Jonathan Alukwu scored for the hosts while Kareem Ademola and Gideon Monday were on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Katsina United got the better of Remo Stars with a comfortable 2-0 victory while Bayelsa United started life without Robert Mizo with a 2-0 victory also. 

Other results of Match Day 18 played on Saturday include: 

Rangers International 4-1 Gombe United

Abia Warriors 3-0 Doma United

Sunshine Stars 0-0 Niger Tornadoes

Plateau United 1-0 Enyimba International.

The last game for Match Day 18 will be decided in Port Harcourt between Rivers United and Akwa United.
