NPFL Round-up: Lobi Stars Record Second Away Win as Akwa United Return To Winning Ways

It was an exciting round of matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League in Match Day 17 as Lobi Stars of Makurdi recorded their second away win of the season against Kwara United, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Two first half goals by Samuel Tiza and Stanley Oganbor was all the Yes Father Boys needed to earn an impressive result against Coach Kabiru Dogo side. 

In Eket, struggling Akwa United returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-1 win over Abia Warriors. The Promise Keepers came from a goal down to claim the maximum points under their caretaker coach, Umar Abdullahi. 

Defending champions, Enyimba International FC condemned Sporting Lagos to the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory while Kano Pillars got the better of Plateau United 2-1 in Kano. 

Table-toppers, Remo Stars left it late to beat Sunshine Stars 2-0 in the South-West derby in Ikenne while Rivers United held Gombe United to a 1-1 draw.

Reinstated Christian Obi of Heartland FC continued his winless run in the league after his side lost 2-3 to Niger Tornadoes in Kaduna. 

Other results include; Doma United 2-0 Katsina United, Shooting Stars 1-0 Bayelsa United, Bendel Insurance 2-0 Rangers International.
