NPFL Round-up: Plateau United Flogs Bayelsa United 5-1, As Lobi Stars Tame Doma United

Plateau United thrashed Bayelsa United 5-1 in MatchDay 14 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, BSNSports.com.ng reports.Â
Albert Hilary bagged a hat-trick for the Jos-based side as they emerged the biggest winners of the week as the visitors only managed a consolation.
In Lafia, Lobi Stars tamed Doma United by 2-1 to end goalkeeper Kingdom Osayi's run of 9 clean sheets in a row. Stanley Oganbor opened the scoring for the 'Yes Father Boys' off a cross by Adebayo Waheed in the 4th minute.Â
In the 78th minute, substitute Suleiman Mojereoma made a spectacular curve which went beyond the goalkeeper for the second to Lobi Stars while Samuel Enifiong reduced the deficit for the visitors at the death.
It was a five-goal thriller in Umuahia as Abia Warriors came from a goal down to beat Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan by 3-2.Â
The visitors had taken the lead in the 39th via Anayo Ogbonna before Kelechi Nnochiri restored parity at the stroke of half-time.Â
Ifeanyi Anaemena gave Abia Warriors the lead from the spot in the 58th minute while Samson Obi added the third in the 81st minute. Despite a late goal by 3SC, the hosts held their nerve to secure the maximum points.Â
In other games, Heartland FC defeated Akwa United by a lone goal while Rangers Int'l returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Sporting Lagos.Â
Gombe United held Sunshine Stars to a 1-1 draw while the game between Kwara United and Niger Tornadoes ended in a stalemate. Kano Pillars got the better of Remo Stars 2-1 while Katsina United beat Bendel Insurance 1-0 on Saturday.
