NPFL Roundup: Insurance Roller Coaster Continues As Remo Stars Shock Enyimba

Action continued in the 2023 season of the Nigeria Premier Football League on Wednesday across the country and Bendel Insurance continued its roller coaster in the league, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The Benin-based club is the only team with a 100 per cent record, having got 12 points in 4 games and they were able to make it 5 out of 5 by beating El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri by a lone goal scored by Deputy Echeta in the 29th minute.

In Ikenne, Remo Stars recovered from their defeat against Insurance and inflicted a 1-0 defeat on Enyimba with Samuel Anakwe scoring the only goal of the game in the first minute.

Ebube Duru scored twice as Rivers United defeated visiting Wikki Tourists 2-0 in Port-Harcourt.

Former champions Plateau United secured the second away win of the day with a 1-2 win over host Nasarawa United in Kaduna.

Ibrahim Mustapha put Plateau United ahead in the 20th minute before King Osanga levelled for the host in the 38th minute while Ifeanyi Onyeabuchi scored the winning goal in the 69th minute.

In Gombe, after a scoreless first half, Yusuf Taiye scored twice within nine minutes to give the host the lead before Ghali Falke reduced the deficit to 2-1, as the full-time result went in favour of the Savannah Scorpions.

In Ibadan, Kwara United secured their first win of the season with a 2-1 win over Akwa United.

Former Junior International Wasiu Alalade netted the opening goal in the 15th minute before Cyril Olisema drew the Promise Keepers levelled in the 69th minute.

Murtala Dagbo secured the full points for the Afonja Warriors with the winning goal in the 86th minute.
