Rivers United are back on top of the NPFL table after pipping Abia Warriors 1-0 at home while Remo Stars fell 2-0 at Katsina United.

Rivers United pipped visiting Abia Warriors 1-0 courtesy of a second-half penalty goal by Ndifreke Effiong.

The Port Harcourt outfit thus reclaimed top spot with 25 points from 13 matches.

Remo Stars dropped to second place on 23 points, while El Kanemi Warriors pushed to third place on 22 points after a 1-0 home win over Akwa United Saturday.

Enyimba are now fourth with 20 points and a game in hand as they begin the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup against Al Masry of Egypt.

Nasarawa United crashed to rock bottom of the table after they lost 2-0 at Plateau United.

‘The Solid Miners’ have 12 points from 13 matches.

Plateau United climbed to 13th position with 15 points. With 13 points from 13 matches Lobi Stars are paced 17 on the log while Akwa United who have 12 points are 18th. Bendel Insurance who have garnered same 12 points with Akwa United are 19th on the log.
