Nasarawa United has been charged for violating the NPFL Framework & Rules during their Matchday 18 fixture against Rivers United on December 22, 2024, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Lafia-based club violated #NPFL25 regulations by allowing encroachment onto the pitch during the match.

Additionally, they failed to ensure proper conduct from both their team and supporters, resulting in an assault on the away team.

The club's supporters also attacked match official, centre referee Musibaudeen Ibrahim.

As a result, Nasarawa United will incur a fine of N3 million—N1 million for each of the following violations: pitch encroachment, failure to manage the conduct of their team and supporters, and failure to provide adequate security.

 In addition, the club will face a deduction of 3 points and 3 goals from their current total due to the assault on the referee.

Nasarawa United has been instructed to identify and prosecute the individuals involved in the assault on the away team, with a report on progress to be submitted to the NPFL within 7 working days.

Furthermore, the Lafia City Stadium will be closed to fans indefinitely until security measures are strengthened, including the installation of a barricade around the state box.

The club is required to provide feedback on their compliance with security requirements to the #NPFL25 security department. Nasarawa United has 48 hours from the date of this notice to appeal these sanctions.
