NPFL Super 6: Champions League Qualification Is Our Target - Edo Deputy Governor

Following their qualification for the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six Playoffs, the Deputy Governor of Edo State Philip Shuaibu has insisted that the CAF Champions League ticket remains the target of Bendel Insurance, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite just being promoted to the NPFL, the Benin Arsenal was the only team that didn't lose any game throughout the regular league season.

The Deputy Governor said they will prove to everyone in Lagos that their unbeaten run was never a fluke.

"When we got promoted from the NNL, we planned to consolidate our position in the NPFL and remain there, but fortunately for us, we qualified for Super Six.

So qualifying for the Champions League is now our target and we shall give it our best in Lagos", he said.

Bendel Insurance will slug it out with Enyimba International, Remo Stars, Lobi Stars, Rivers United, and Sunshine Stars in Lagos starting from the 3rd to the 11th of June, 2023.
