NPFL To Empower Match Officials With Communication Gadgets - Elegbeleye

The Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Gbenga Elegbeleye has revealed that referees will be empowered with communication gadgets ahead of the 2024/2025 league season, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Elegbeleye stated this at the Annual General Meeting of the league in Abuja. 

He said that the NFF will partner with international bodies to train Nigerian referees on the operations of the Video Assistant Referee. 

"We have concluded the procurement of communication gadgets that can minimize officiating errors, and these will be available for NPFL Referees from the new season (NPFL25). 

"NFF would work with international partners to train Referees on the operations of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), No date for VAR introduction yet."

The 2024/2025 NPFL season will get underway on 31st August 2024 with the curtain raiser billed for Enugu as Rangers International trade tackles with El-Kanemi Warriors.
