NPFL U17 Youth League Playoff Holds In Benin As Five Teams Set For Showdown

The group stages of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) U17 Youth League which commenced on Thursday in five different venues ended on Saturday with five clubs in the playoff, BSNsports.com.ng can report.

Katsina United, Rivers United, Plateau United, Remo Stars and Rangers International youth teams were group winners that progressed to the playoff holding in Benin, Edo State. 

In Group A, at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, Katsina United with 7 points topped the table to pick the sole ticket while Plateau United who garnered 6 points reign supreme over other three clubs at the Lafia City stadium, Nasarawa state to win Group B ticket.

In Group C which took place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Rivers United U17 team with two wins and one draw will represent the zone in Benin while Remo Stars represent the South West zone . Remo Stars in Group D at the Ekiti center got six points to outsmart Sunshine Stars, Sporting Lagos and Shooting Stars. 

Rangers International cadet team shrugged off Heartland, Abia Warriors and Enyimba International pressures to emerge the group winners with7 points.

The playoff which will be played in a round robin format and produce the eventual winners in Edo State will hold from 18th-24th February, 2024.
