NPFL Update: Bayelsa United Cancels Kit Sponsorship Deal

Barely 48 hours after agreeing on the new kit sponsorship deal, the management of the Nigeria Premier Football League side Bayelsa United have announced the cancellation of the deal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Yenogoa-based side had earlier agreed on a deal with Halkins Exploration and Production Limited to have their logo on their jersey and other kits.

The Bayelsa State government on Wednesday morning directed the club to cancel the deal citing the legal issue between the company and them.

The cancellation was announced through a release from the government and they further stated that the deal remained cancelled until the issue was settled amicably.
