The chairman of the Interim Management Committee Hon. Gbenga Elegbeye has confirmed that any club found to be violent in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League season will suffer a 3 points deduction, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The IMC chairman made the statement during the draws for the upcoming season conducted in Abuja on Wednesday afternoon.

In the past, unruly clubs usually faced monetary sanctions but Elegbeleye has now confirmed that it will not be the case this time around.

"Any club that engages in violent conduct will not be sanctioned with N500,000.00 as was the case in the past, but three points will be deducted as punishment”, he insists.

The participating teams were drawn into two groups of 10 teams with the top 3 teams from each group going for Super 6 to determine the league winner.
