Ahead of the second stanza of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League season, the head coach of Shooting Stars Gbenga Ogunbote has admitted that the club did not perform brilliantly in the first round, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The Oluyole Warriors started the season on a good note picking a valuable away draw against Plateau United in Jos but since then they have been struggling to secure maximum points even at home.

Their last two home games against Bendel Insurance and Akwa United ended in a draw which dropped the team further down the table.

While speaking on Sports on Fresh FM 105.9, Ogunbote admitted their not-too-impressive performance and further stated that they will bring in more players to stabilise the team.

"In the first stanza of the league we've not done too brilliantly and we just make sure that we want to amend where necessary but the first stanza hasn't been a brilliant one for the team.

We will bring one or two quality players to ensure that we tighten up.

We won't sign too many players for the second stanza, all we need to do is to block the loopholes we noticed in the first stanza, we are talking to bring between 3 and 5 players", he said.
