Two league matches were the curtain raisers for the Match-day 4 of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League season, with two one home win and one away win in Benin and Uyo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The defending champions Rivers United continued their impressive showing as they defeated host Dakkada FC 1-2 at the Goodswil Akpabio stadium in Uyo.

Isaac George put the host ahead in the 16th minute before Nyima Nwagua equalised for Rivers in the 35th minute.

Naibe Akpesiri netted the winning goal for the Pride of Rivers in the 45th minute as they maintain their position on top of group B with 10 points.

It was a different story for Remo Stars as their unbeaten run came to halt at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin.

Imade Osarenkhoe put Bendel Insurance ahead in the 5th minute before Ismael Sarki made it 2-0 in the 25th minute.

Austin Ogunye wrapped up the game with the third goal in the 78th minute as Bendel Insurance go on top of group A with maximum of 12 points.
