NPFL Youth League: Startimes Will Show Final Rounds Of Matches, Says Emeka Inyama

Chairman of the U17 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Pastor Emeka Inyama has confirmed that, the final rounds of matches will be streamed live on Startimes, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Inyama made the revelation on Saturday while fielding questions from journalists in Enugu.

According to him, the zonal playoffs was a success adding that, the League body have scouts all over the country picking players that would be available for National team coaches.

“The final round of matches will be taken live on Startimes, I can tell you that for free, and that should be in the next three weeks where the champions of each of the 5 zones will come for what they call a championship play off to determine the actual champion.

“Along the way we have scouts all over picking players that would be available for National teams coaches, be it under 17 be it under 20 be it under 23 as the case may be.

“And by so doing we have reduced the burden of making an open scouting program for National teams coaches all the time because these are authentic players that belong to the clubs.” he added.

The former Abia warriors Chairman who was available through out the South East Zone play-offs in Enugu, further identified that, the basic aim of the committee is to encourage the Competition to be successful.

“Going forward, they should see this as a serious investment, see this as something worthy of emulation to do as it is been done in other parts of the world.

“Obviously, they might have been some oversight here and there and we are going to build on it and more.

“We would love to introduce technology into what we are doing, it may be expensive but by the time we bring in MRI, that would help to curb whatever may be an oversight that you have seen now.

“But Generally we have 80% or 90% success in this competition, the pictures are there to see the ages of these boys and I think the most important thing is to encourage the Competition and not always look at the weaknesses, it would only be a lesson for future improvement."

At the end of the group stages of the U17 Youth League which commenced on Thursday in five different venues with 20 teams in contention, five clubs emerged zonal champions and the end on Saturday.

They are, Katsina United, Rivers United, Plateau United, Remo Stars and Rangers International youth teams.
