NPFL24: Abiam Scores Match Winner, As Doma United Beat Akwa United

Doma United bounced back to winning ways with a massive 1-0 win over Akwa United, on Saturday, in a Matchday 8 encounter, of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The clash which was played at the Pantami Stadium, saw the Akin-Onigbinde-led side return to winning ways after they were held to a goalless draw by Bendel Insurance on Wednesday, in a Matchday 4 rescheduled game. 

However, the host got a breakthrough after 18 minutes, when Abiam Nelson was in the right place, at the right time to score from a close range to give Doma United a 1-0 lead into the halftime break. 

Akwa United, in the second half, tried to find a way back into the game, but it became a difficult task for the Fatai Osho side as Doma United held on to secure the maximum points at the Pantami Stadium.

With the victory, Doma United moved to 7th position on the log with 11 points from seven games. While Akwa United with the defeat moved down to the 17th spot on 7 points after eight games played.
