NPFL24: Ogunbote Reacts On Shooting Stars Loss To Bendel Insurance

Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has expressed his disappointment over his side 2-0 defeat to Bendel Insurance, in a Matchday 2 encounter on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The game which was played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, saw the Monday Odigie-led side securing their first win of the season, with Evans Ogbonda scoring a brilliant goal to earned the victory.
While speaking shortly after the encounter, Ogunbote said that the focus now is on Gombe United, which is their Matchday 3 fixture in Ibadan.
“This game had been played, won and lost," Ogunbote said.
"We take the positives from the game and be better in the next game."
The Oracle, as the gaffer is fondly called, expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players in the encounter, even as he exonerated them of any blame for the loss.
“We played well all through the game. Sometimes, there are things that can be irritating, the players are human beings.
“As far as I am concerned, all I want to say is, we will take the positives from the game, we have lost the game, we have lost it, there is nothing anybody can do about it,†the tactician stated.
When asked to comment on officiating of the game, the former Sunshine Stars coach said; “As journalists, I expect that when you watch a game, you should be able to have an independent report as regards officiating. That’s why you are here."
