NPFL24: Tornadoes Intensify Training, As Coach Abarah Charges Team To Nail Rivers United
By Emmanuel Chinedu
Niger Tornadoes have intensified preparation ahead of this weekend's Matchday 2 encounter against former champions Rivers United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Ikon Allah Boys were put through tactical and group practice to recover fully and sharpen their skills ahead of their first home game of the season, of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Addressing the players shortly after the morning training session, head coach Hamza Abarah urged the players to focus their minds on how the team will grab the first win of the season against one of the best teams in the league.
"Despite the defeat in Umuahia against Abia Warriors, it was a good game and a spirited performance, but we have the potentials to do even better, so we have to put in extra effort and be determined and focused to be able to achieve our aims," Hamza explained.
Rivers United secured their passage to the next stage of the CAF Confedration Cup over the weekend upon a 2-0 win against Étoile Filante of Burkina Faso and are expected to embark on a trip to Kaduna to kick start their NPFL season.
