NPFL24 Preview : Abia Warriors Face Tricker Tie Against Pillars, As Enyimba, Rangers Eye 3Points

By Emmanuel Chinedu

Abia Warriors have been preparing and training all week long ahead of this weekend's Matchday 3 encounter against Kano Pillars, at the Umuahia Township Stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Erasmus Onuh-led side narrowly lost away to Kwara United 1-0, in a Matchday 2 clash last Sunday at the llorin Sports Complex. But will be hoping to return to winning ways when they take on the Abdul Maikaba-led side.

Abia Warriors players since they returned from llorin on Monday, have been training hard and putting their bodies on the line ahead of the Sunday clash.

According to Abia Warriors head coach, Erasmus Onuh, who said that the team needs to keep on working hard to be strong and discipline.

Kano Pillars, on the other hand also secured their first win of the season, after they defeated Katsina United 1-0, through a strike by Ibrahim Mustapha.

But the Makaiba-led team have also suffered a defeat in their first away this season to Sunshine Stars.

Enyimba FC Vs Akwa United

The NPFL champions did not start the campaign in a positive way after they suffered a shocking 2-0 loss to Gombe United last Sunday, at the Pantami Stadium.

But this will be a great opportunity for the Finidi George-led side to bounce back to winning ways but against Akwa United, who have not lost to Enyimba in their last two visits in Aba, will be coming into the game having such record in mind.

Akwa United have failed to pick a win in their first two games of the season, and a defeat to the People's Elephant in Aba will put coach Fatai Osho in a serious pressure.

Rangers Int'l Vs Niger Tornadoes

Rangers Int'l on the other hand also suffered defeat in Ikenne against Remo Stars last Sunday.

But, the Flying Anteoples also picked three maximum points in their first home again of the season against Doma United.

The Fidelis IIechukwu led side will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they play host to Niger Tornadoes, at their adopted home ground, at the Awka City Stadium, on Sunday.
